Could you please suggest where I go to find out what music do Chinese people listen in China? What is popular, what is underground etc?

The major streaming platforms (NetEase and the various sites under the Tencent banner including Tencent Music) have charts that you can scroll through to see what's 'hot' at the moment.

You might also find the end of year charts in this post interesting (taken from Douban): https://jakenewby.substack.com/p/down-the-rabbit-hole-an-alternative

For excellent deep dives on idol / fan culture in China, I highly recommend the Active Faults Substack and for Mandarin-language pop coverage The Mando Gap (also on Substack) is great. As for 'underground' stuff... well, you're already in the right place for that
