OK, not only is 口 a genius name for the LP, but that artwork with the tape spelling out 口 is awesome! It's a shame they haven't (to my knowledge) but out any of their LPs on 12". I own a split 7" of Rock n Roll Hero but would love more Carsick Cars vinyl.
Maybe Mars did a vinyl release of Carsick Cars a few years ago (it’s pictured in the Concrete Avalanche email header, in fact). It wasn’t cheap at the time and was a limited release I think, so I imagine they go for a few hundred kuai these days if you can track one down on Taobao. Seem to be over a hundred quid on Discogs.
I’m pretty sure 3 had a Limited vinyl release too, although maybe only in Japan. Again, may not be that easy or cheap to track down I’m afraid
ah weird, they put the first two singles up there. Maybe give it a bit more time… the Taihe empire generally isn’t great at getting things onto all the international platforms at the same time I’ve noticed
Brilliant issue. Also. I really loved the old interview with Zhang Shouwang and Thurston Moore. Thurston is always such a fan first. I love that. And Zhang Shouwang’s casual name dropping of John Cale! I didn’t know any of the history and timeline of that original Sonic Youth show. And the influence of Sonic Youth on the D22 scene. That’s never mentioned in the usual journey to the east narrative of The Chieftains, Jean-Michel Jarre and Wham. The Thurston Moore band are phenomenal live. Debbie Googe is one of my favourite people too. Thanks so much for this.
Ah thanks very much. It was great listening in on that chat with Shouwang and Thurston Moore – so much love for music between them.
Another Carsick Cars-John Cale link incidentally, is that he came to China for some Velvet Underground 50th anniversary shows in 2018. Shouwang and Li Qing played with him for those, along with Yan Yulong (Chui Wan) and Yang Fan.

i missed Carsick Cars's shows in Guangzhou/Shenzhen and hope to make it to their later concerts
Thanks for sharing, Jake, and keeping us all up to date on what's going on in China. Definitely will listen to the new Carsick Cars 'Aha' album.
Only on Bandcamp, eh? Don't see it on Apple.
